This is NOT an apple product!! I am most disappointed that it WILL NOT charge my iphone 3GS. The phone came up with a message stating that this product is not supported for charging and suggests turning on airplane mode. This is VERY cheaply made and WILL NOT charge your phone.
I am very disappointed. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! shame on your amazon.

Unit is not well fit to the phone, you plug in and the phone actually displays a message every few minutes saying it was not designed to be used with the iphone. Completely useless, and blatantly misrepresented in the description. Cannot warn you away from this enough. So light that when you pick up the phone it comes with it and you have to use two hands to carefully remove it from the ill fitting connector...worse that using the bare cable by a factor of 10.
Am I being too kind to this item , I think I am but if I gave it a proper rating it would be heavily censored anyway...

I wish there were earlier reviews before I purchased it. It doesn't fit and provides no support for the iphone 3g. The phone rests on the connections which is not a good idea.

This comes in a regular black box which appears to be an apple knockoff. You plug in the adapter in the back. Since I have a nice leather case, it fits perfectly! If you walk around without a case, then it prob. won't fit. I recommend it.

It *looks* like the Apple dock for the iPhone, but it doesn't actually fit properly. When you place your phone in the dock, it isn't actually supported by the sides of the base; it just sits there, held up by the connecting pins. In other words, it's like shoving your iPhone onto one of those universal docks without an adapter- something that you are expressly cautioned against. I noticed this right away, and decided not to use it for fear of damaging my phone's connecting port. I give it 2 stars anyways for effort- it does connect, at least, and it does look similar to the official Apple dock.
