This thin light soft almost invisible layer protects the keyboard from dust, dirt, and accidental spills. On top of all the things the keyboard protector should do, it also make the key strokes more quiet, very nice to touch as my fingers tapping on the keyboard.

No one likes a dirty or unusable keyboard. Even if you don't eat or drink in the vicinity of your keyboard, there is dust and "whatever". The keyboard cover is all but invisible. It is comfortable and is just the "insurance" you need to protect the keyboard.
