Item Description

If the tunes you spin go deeper than your earphones can handle, it's time for new earphones. The Atomic Bass earphones are tailor made to deliver the slamming bass of hip-hop and dance, but they are tonally balanced for any music style.Precision crafted from the same material as the iPod Nano, and sporting a gold plated stereo mini-plug, Atomic Bass goes to the final degree to make sure everything looks and sounds perfect.Bass sound waves are longer by nature, so it takes longer for bass energy to really get started. The unique shape of Atomic Bass features a lengthened sound chamber to let those waves develop properly. While the sound is generated in the stylish bud, the angled tube chamber which sits in your ear canal acts as a tuned port. Penetration is deeper, and so is the rumble. This means clear, deep bass you can feel. Don't miss the sensation. Finally, most earphones are rated at 16O of impedance. Atomic Bass earphones are rated at 32O, which makes them easier to drive. This added efficiency helps to produce enormous sound, and your iPod battery doesn't have to work so hard to do it.Your ears are unique and, for many people, the smallest available ear fitting is still too big for their ears. Factor in a variety of ear shapes, and getting the right fit becomes challenging. Atomic Bass earphones can be inserted from three possible angles, and the smallest of the three included fittings is among the smallest available. Three angles times three fitting sizes equals nine possible solutions to getting the most comfortable fit for your ears.

5 stars Great Earphones! 2010-05-10

I'm so glad I decided to buy these earphones among the other dozen or so out there. I use it with my iPhone - the standard issue white earphones that normally come with the iPhone have never fit well in my ears. With these, they definitely fit snug. I use it when I work out and they stay in place just great. The music always comes across as clear, and though the bass is not "atomic", I am more than happy with sound quality. The mic also works wonderfully. I like the mic function where you can turn off/on, skip to the next track, answer calls with one or two clicks. yay for these earphones!

Wiring is baaaaaaaaad, let me explain ....first of all me and my friends ordered three one was defective when we recevied it ..how? let me see ..mmmm. Wiring, that was the issue, second thing that after almost 15 days later the second one's wires started to expose its contents and almost 1 month later mine had the same thing and two months later it stopped working, ok i must say that the sound was amazing while it lasted i thought it had a good sound quality bearing in mind its price and a deep bass but the quality is cheap and i mean really cheap, anyway i dont mind having a cheap quality headphones with a great sound quality as long it works .....but these don't, and i should say that they are not that comfortable after a while you can feel them hurting your ear.

2 stars Great Sound but.... 2010-05-05

These are great earphones when it comes to the sound. It's loud and clear as you would expect from any good pair of earphones. But when it gets to how comfortable it is, it's extremely bad. No matter which size ear buds I had attached to the earphones, it would feel uncomfortable. Even worse, it would usually fall out of my ears. I let my friends try them and they gave me the same reply: "These feel really weird and they look odd."

Another HUGE issue I found with these are that the ear buds would randomly pop off. This happened occasionally. I checked the small paper with the instructions which read:
"Attach ear caps to fit the gap of the earphones. If the ear caps are not set properly, they may become detached from the headphones and remain in your ear when you remove the headphones."
I attached the ear buds properly as the instructions said but they were still loose. I got these headphones in March. Since then, I've lost 2 pairs of ear buds. Now I'm stuck using the extremely large ones. I'm hoping that I can buy spare ear buds somewhere....

Pros:
Amazing Sound
Mic/button functions very well
Looks cool

Cons:
Uncomfortable
Ear buds don't fit well

2 stars Poor construction, poor fit 2010-03-24

When I first got these headphones, I was fairly pleased with their sound quality, but they never did stay in my ears as well as other in-ear headphones have. Then they started to fall apart.

First the rubber flexy bit that comes out of the plug began to work it's way out, then plug itself bent. Next the aluminum sleeve that goes over the outer part of the plug slid off. Finally, one after the other, the chrome colored plastic ear piece fell out of the aluminum speaker housing.

Additionally, one of the rubber covers on the ear piece has torn, and the button for answering has never worked on my iPhone 3GS.

My old generic sony inner ear phones are better, but the most comfortable I've used so far are the first set of Apple inner ear phones I had.
