This is the second one of these that I have ordered from this merchant. Great product, works great and hasn't broken yet (after ~6 months of use). It is very convenient, I use it when traveling along with a compact cigarette lighter adapter plug from Belkin, whole thing retracts to a very small size, can fit in your pocket no problem.
I have a iPhone 3GS, this works great in all the cars and computers I've tried it in (several).
Will not work for a 3g Iphone.

These cables will not work on my 3g Iphone. I suppose they are making money by handling charges. I do not know what 2nd means and I am sure it is a way to get around the fact that they will not work with the 3g 16m iphone. The latest iphone version would not be the second release. If it is an upgrade for the new iphones they should make it very clear that they will not work with previous models (if at all). This is nowhere on the page that I can find. Ripoff. Amazon should stop selling this item until it can be made clear they will not fit.

Cheap and works but be aware that the item as pictured shows the iPhone connector to be smaller and rounded like the OEM from Apple. In fact, the connector is large and squared off. You will have to remove the iPhone from most any case to connect and charge the phone. I gave it 2 stars for the price and the fact I will use it some but I was really looking for something that would work w/o removing the phone from the case.
If anyone knows of a connector that will do this, please post as it seems we can't rely on the picture.
