4 stars Good headphones for running, except for phone calls 2010-06-06

Reviewer: Tara C. Smith

I was desperate for headphones that would not drive me nuts halfway into a 10 mile run. It was important to have a microhpone so I could receive calls, so I was happy to find these. I have to admit when I received them I was skeptical about how they would stay on my ears during a long run but they have turned out to be great for running. I love having the volume feature on the microphone at my fingertips so I can adjust volume, pause, or skip a song during a run. Surprisingly, they wrap around your ear and adjust easily - I have very little if any problems during a run and don't find myself adjusting them. The ONLY big issue I've discovered is with phone calls after all - when I do get a call I can barely barely hearing anything even with the volume up. The music volume is fine but the phone volume is poor. I haven't searched for new ones yet because I don't get that many calls and I love them otherwise.

4 stars Needs a Mic Clip 2010-02-03

Reviewer: J. Bedell

I bought these for my wifes I-Phone for Christmas. She said that she likes them, they are not as loud as her other pair, possibly because they sit over instead of in your ear. The biggest recommendation she had was that they need a clip to raise the mic closer to your face, it hangs pretty low.

1 stars Poor quality 2009-11-23

The sound quality is not that great. The microphone works well, although it produces extraneous noise which is annoying to the listeners. I can't hear it, but the other party can. The over-the-ear pieces work well to fit your ear.

3 stars Almost perfect... 2009-11-12

I bought these earphones about 4 months ago. I have a problem with earbuds staying in my ears, and I didn't want an over the head earphone for my iPhone. So, I bit the bullet and paid A LOT more that I usually do for these earphones.
For 3 months, they were AMAZING!! The sound is great; the microphone was a little low, but worked; and they stayed on my head (even when jogging!).
However, for the last 3 or so weeks, they've been randomly shutting off my music/podcasts, shocking my ears, hanging up calls, and activating the voice command function. VERY irritating (and sometimes painful!!).

I don't know what happened to them, as I always put them away in the nice little case they came in. But, after paying $40 for earphones, I expected them to last a lot longer than 4 months!

4 stars IPhone Running Headphones 2009-11-04

Reviewer: Amajon

I bought these so that I could workout with my Iphone 3GS, because I wanted to be able to change volume/tracks/playlists and have a wraparound ear piece.

The headphones are really comfortable and do not block the ear canal, so you can still hear if working out outside. There is some reduction in volume/bass levels, but it is fairly negligible compared to the comfort and convenience of being able to hear cars/sirens/etc.

I was a little disappointed in the integrated audio controls. The volume control does not modify the iphone volume, but can reduce the volume of the audio signal (effectively allowing you to reduce the sound, but not increase over what the iphone is set at). Also the button for the microphone works for voice control/dialing, but is not as nice as the functionality of the (horribly uncomfortable) iphone headphones. The default iphone headphones provide the additional functionality of single click to pause, double click to skip song, etc. You can do this via the voice control functionality in the airdrives, but it is a little less convenient to click and hold the microphone button, wait for the beep, then tell it to "play next track". It's not impossible, but can be annoying when you're really working out hard.

After 6 different headsets, I'm finally content with these, not exactly what I was looking for, but close enough.

I hope that helps someone.
