Nit picky annoyance

I got these for dirt cheap off steepandcheap so I can't complain too much. The sound is what I'd call average, which is much better than the standard headphones that come with the iPod/iPhone. The sound quality has been discussed to death, but I wanted to write about my one annoyance. If you wear a collar shirt, the mic/button nub on the left ear cord gets slightly tugged on by your collar. While this doesn't pull the bud out of my ear at all, I can feel it pull a little and it does this everytime I move my head the slightest bit, and gets irritating. I think it would've been much better to put the button lower down, closer to where the wires fork. Maybe I have an unfortunate length neck or collar height, but it's enough to make me think about getting something else. I haven't yet, but if I can find another deal on something I'd consider it for sure.

At first when listening to these headphones I thought they were just the same if not a teeny bit better than apple headphones. Then after I started listening to other types of music it started to show. The Beatles sound completely different. Through stereo sound (the music comes out from both headphones, different parts of the song in each one) I could hear ringo in one ear, george in aanother, and john lennon in both. It made me appreciate music in a whole other way.
Also, as opposed to other headphones, i think that these are almost the best bass sounding in ear headphones; except for the beats by Dr.Dre in-ears. So if you are not willing to pay 175$ (or however much beats go for) then these are a great bet for solid to good sounding headphones.
Another plus about these is the fact that they fit into your pocket. The only reason I didn't by on ear headphones or full woofers is that i need phones that can fit in my pocket. I carry my 16 g Ipod Touch around with me wherever I go, all day every day. It's necessary that they fit in small spaces.
Fantastic!

I had the V-moda Vibe Duo - Headset ( in-ear ear-bud ) - GunmetalRouge and thought I was getting fairly good sound. But the left ear developed this annoying squeak that I couldn't correct so I went bud hunting again. I tried these Skullcandies out and was blown away. The bass is rich and deep and the mids and highs are crystal clear. It's like a lid was removed, allowing the sound to be free and escape. Now I can't go back to the Duos at all. They sound so muffled.
The mic/pause button works just great.
And these buds look so great with a nice silver wire.
Five Stars!
Short cable length, sub-par customer support.

I bought the Chrome FMJ directly from the [...] website.
The sound is nice. On par with a lot of the in-ear headphones on this price range. For the sound and mic alone, I would give this product 4.5 stars.

My main gripe, initially, was with the cable length. There is no mention of the cable length anywhere on this webpage. I was guess I was wrong to assume that I d that like all of the previous headphones from all the different brands and manufacturers that I bought in my life, it would have a cable long enough for me to put my mp3 device on my pocket while listening to it. I was wrong to assume. I am 5'9" so I am not tall by any standards. When I have my mp3 player in my pocket and the earbuds in my ear, the cable is completely stretched, and any movement sideways or backwards causes the earbuds to pop out of my ear. This is infuriating when lifting weights, as I have to concentrate more on the headphones than on my workout or enjoying the music. For this, I take out 1 star.

My major deception came when contacting the customer service. The customer service that claims to have LIFETIME WARRANTY SUPPORT. After a few months of struggling with this cable length issue, I contacted them by e-mail, politely, explained my situation in detail. I also explained that although there are extension cables available from retailers such as Radioshack, such extension cable would render the mic useless since it only includes the stereo connectors, and not the mic as well. I asked how I could solve this problem and if they had an extension cable that would not render the mic useless. The response was quick and dirty:
"Currently we we do not make a cord that would be able to extend the headphones with the mic."
No further help of where I could get such items, just a slap in the face with a "sorry, can't help ya." I replied asking if they had a regular extension cable available for purchase and got yet another dirty quick reply from the same CSR, Jeff:
"You can get one of those at any electronic shop."
That is the type of service I get for buying ont of their most expensive offerings for the in-ear headphones. No ifs, ands, or buts. Just one sentence that basically says "too bad. We can't help you and we don't care. Go somewhere else to get your problem resolved." For this, I take off another 2 stars and round it down for a total of 1 star.
FYI:
The cable length is 4.92ft long according to Newegg, but I have a feeling that mine isn't even 4ft.
Works with enV Touch VX11000 cell phone

Another reviewer ("HappyMeil") must've had a bad pair. They definitely work with the enV Touch. You can answer an incoming call with the press of the button once if the phone is unlocked, or twice if the phone is locked. When you want to end your call, press the button once, and you will return to where you left off before you answered the call.
The microphone works well.
Please note, pressing the button on the earphones does not skip tracks or pause like they do with the iPhone. I think this is more a function of the iPhone than the earphones, or the enV Touch, since no where in the enV Touch's owner's manual does it suggest this capability exists.
The sound quality is excellent. Sound is louder than most earphones and I was surprised by how much I needed to lower the volume. The earphones have glorious amounts of bass, but seem balanced perfectly for the enV Touch. Multiple EQ settings on the phone easily toned down the bass for those seeking a truer sound balance.
Some reviews indicate that there are only 2 included ear piece sizes, but it looks like this was corrected in 2009. The package clearly has 3 sets of silicon ear pieces and 3 sets of memory foam ear pieces.
Only time will tell how durable the earphones are, and how long they last. So far, so good.
I highly recommend the Skullcandy FMJ's for use with the enV Touch or enV3 series phones.
