The pictures are great, but the story line is just so, so. If it weren't for the pictures, I'm not sure that my kids would even listen to the story.

I bought this book for my grandson when he was two years old and fascinated by the moon. It quickly became a favorite, for him and for me as well. It has plenty to hold a toddler's interest without being yawn-inducing for adults. The charming illustrations are accompanied by lyrical text. And it's great for reciting while walking on moonlight nights.

Beautiful illustrations (naturally, this is Alison Jay who did them!) and poetic text. A great gift for a baby or toddler.

My 17-month-old daughter received this book a few months ago and loves it! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is unique and whimsical. It is a great bedtime book. I now purchase this book for other children. I highly recommend this book and the other books by this illustrator.

Love this book--it stirred my heart! Michael Emerson of "Lost" asked me if I had read it when I assisted him looking for a book in a NYC store I worked in back in 2006. Even though I had looked at it since it had arrived & I am a "moonchild" by zodiac, I never had had time to open it. I am a huge fan of this great actor so I read it after he left and it gave me chills---not the kind he gives me as Ben on Lost, or did as a serial killer on The Practice, but the good kind. It left an indelible mark on me so I bought myself a copy & this is the gift all my friend's children will receive from me. Don't miss. Treat yourself to this GEM!
